In anticipation of the 2034 World Cup, the stadium is expected to undergo significant expansion. Plans call for its capacity to be increased from 25,000 to 46,319 seats to ensure a comfortable spectator experience at world-class matches. Additionally, Al Awwal Park will be one of the main venues for the Asian Cup in 2027.
